1. Who we are

Back On The Rack is a community marketplace app operated by Glass Roots (Pty) Ltd, based in Maun, Botswana. Contact us at orders@backontherack.online.

2. Information we collect

When you use our app we collect:

• Your name and email address (on registration)
• Photos of items you list for sale
• Bank account details (only if you request a cash payout)
• Order history and transaction records
• Device information required for app functionality

3. How we use your information

• To process orders and send email notifications
• To manage seller credits and payout requests
• To display your listings to other users
• To communicate with you about your account or orders
• To improve the app and user experience

4. Data security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Bank details provided for payouts are used solely for processing your cash transfer and are not shared.

5. Your rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing orders@backontherack.online. Requests are processed within 30 days.

6. Terms of use — sellers

• All items must be accurately described and photographed. Misleading listings will result in account suspension.
• Items must be clean and in the condition stated.
• Once an order is marked as paid, sellers must drop off the item at Glass Roots within 5 business days.
• Items must be packed with the order reference number clearly written on the outside.
• Back On The Rack charges a 10% commission on all completed sales. Sellers receive 90%.
• Sellers cannot purchase their own listings.

7. Terms of use — buyers

• All items are second-hand and sold as-is. No returns or refunds.
• Orders must be paid by EFT within 24 hours. Unpaid orders are automatically cancelled and items returned to the shop.
• All EFT payments must use the exact order reference number provided.
• Buyers are encouraged to contact sellers with questions before purchasing.

8. No returns policy

All sales are final. Back On The Rack acts as a marketplace only and is not responsible for misrepresented products. Disputes between buyers and sellers must be resolved between the parties. Back On The Rack reserves the right to mediate and to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Commission and fees

Back On The Rack charges a 10% commission on all completed sales, deducted automatically from seller proceeds. There are no fees for listing items or for buyers. The commission covers platform operations, hosting, and the Glass Roots collection point service.

10. Automatic order cancellation

Orders not paid within 24 hours are automatically cancelled. A reminder email is sent at 12 hours. Cancelled orders release items back to the shop immediately.

11. Collection point

All items must be dropped off and collected from Glass Roots, The Power Station, Mophane Avenue, Maun, during published opening hours. Back On The Rack is not responsible for items not collected within a reasonable time after the buyer is notified.

12. Limitation of liability

Back On The Rack and Glass Roots (Pty) Ltd are not liable for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from transactions between buyers and sellers. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms and to update these terms at any time.
